Brandon Babineaux defends his second USDGC win

Melissa Stockton wins her first Women’s USDGC

Tim Dapp breezes through his second straight Senior USDGC win

The United States Deaf Golf Association just wrapped up their 2011 USDGC at the Golf Club at Yankee Trace, located near Dayton, Ohio.  The Men’s championship ended up with two people vying for the top spot in a first-hole sudden death playoff.  Brandon Babineaux (72-67-72-75) won the Championship, while Bill Roberts  (70-70-76-70) was the runner-up.  First round leaders was Bill Roberts with 70, and both Keith Worek and Brandon Babineaux were tied for second with 72.  Brandon fired with a 67 (– 5 under par) during 2nd round and led 1 stroke over Bill.  During the 3rd round, Brandon (72) increased his lead by five strokes over Bill (76), comfortably.   However, at the last round, Bill refused to give up and shot his third time – 70 and caught up at the 18th hole with a birdie to tie with Brandon!

Melissa Stockton won her first USDGC Women’s Champion with scores of 82-81-86-83.  Susan Zupnik came in second place with 86-86-85-82.

Tim Dapp (79-82-79-77) breezed by with his Senior Men’s Championship victory over a newcomer, Bill Stricklen (86-84-80-78).

There is a new, exciting and potential young golfer who came to play – Justin “Pono” Tokioka is a 16-year-old golfer from Hawaii; he may be the next Kevin Hall!  He shot 73-79-79-73.

The final results are on the USDGA website.
